Girls Gone Strong

I love the company Girls Gone strong or GGS and they are all about the strength and confidence of women while exercising. They’re advocates for being real and their programs are amazing. I would not be the trainer I am today without their Pre and Postnatal Fitness Coaching course.

The thing I love most about them though is how they share. If you’re a women, if you’re not sure about something in the exercise world jump on their website and search away. I could almost guarantee you will find some information on their site.

Here’s a gem I came across tonight about training loads and the the different types of exercise you can do. What and when you should be be doing to balance your weekly workouts depending on your fitness level and time you have available to train.

How Much Cardio vs. Strength Training Should I Do?

In my time as a PT and my own experiences with exercises getting the balance of not over or under training and the right types of exercise can be extremely difficult. However the older I have got and the more I have learned to listen to my body, make sure I have enough rest and recovery and make sure it is fuelled correctly to meet the demands places upon it the better results I have got.

It is really important to remember that more isn’t always better, that it’s all in the balance and when you show up to exercise you own it, commit and give it your all, in addition to lots of movement throughout the day!

I'm a mother of 2 beautiful girls and live on a dairy farm with my hardworking husband in South Gippsland. I am a Primary School Teacher with a Major in Physical Education and also a Qualified Personal Trainer with a love of Learning, Health, Fitness and imparting all I know to strengthen the lives, bodies and minds of those around me. These passions and the hunt for a good balance between being a mother, contributing to my community and helping to support my family had me to exploring options and along came Kangatraining! Why Kangatraining when I already work as a personal trainer can be answered in 4 words 'safe for new mothers!' I have lots of mums coming to my mainstream classes but I was not educated enough on what is and is not safe and as much as we say our venue is kid friendly, activities are not structured with the children in mind! This is what I love about Kanga!
